The Big Lunch Short Film Competition Rules

The final date for submissions is July 5th 2009 at midnight GMT. The Winner will be announced in August 2009
• You must be a UK resident to submit an entry
• You should be over 16
• Each entry must be no longer than 60 seconds, but may be any length shorter than 60 seconds including the end title card
• Entries can be shot on any media
• Each user may submit unlimited entries.
• While the Jury will allow a lot of space for artistic interpretation each entry must include the end title card (which can be accessed here) which includes the MasterCard/Big Lunch branding, tagline and URL. This must play at the end for 3 seconds.
• Entrants must ensure that before submission they have obtained all licences and clearances (including, but not limited to, copyrights, artist rights, usage rights, performance rights) to allow all elements of the film to be screened in public across all media, including broadcast, cinema, web and wireless. (A sample clearance form can be downloaded along with the title card and music track here.) This excludes the rights to the music track for the 40-second ad which are provided by MasterCard on a rights cleared basis and which may be used at the film makers discretion in their entry, including extracts or loops of the music track. No other usage rights are granted in the music track. No remix/reworking of the track is permitted.
• Entrants must ensure that they obtain a signed release form from every single person who appears in or contributes to the submitted film. Raindance.tv and MasterCard reserve the right to request to see these forms and failure to provide a form for every or any participant may result in disqualification from the Competition. • Entries which contain material of an unfavourable, illegal, explicit sexual or violent nature and/or where such inclusion prevents the viewing of the material at any time of day by people of any age, or anything defamatory or likely to incite violence, bigotry or racial prejudice, will be rejected.
• All Entries will be considered for competition selection by Raindance.tv, MasterCard and its agents. All selection decisions are final and at the discretion of Raindance.tv, MasterCard and its agents
• All films selected for competition will be judged by a jury assembled by MasterCard and Raindance.tv which will select the shortlist and winner of the main prize. All entrants will be notified as to whether they have been selected for Competition, the shortlist or as a winner. All decisions made by the jury are final and at the sole discretion of the jury.
• Entrants who are shortlisted for prizes will be required to send a high resolution version of their submission by post
• All entrants whose films are selected for Competition grant an unfettered, irrevocable, royalty-free, exclusive licence to MasterCard and Raindance.tv from the date of submission until 28 September 2009 and a subsequent unfettered, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive 24 month licence to MasterCard and Raindance.tv, from 29 September 2009, in all media for their films. Please note that any third party material will need to be licensed on this basis too (e.g. any Music Track licensed for use in the film)
• Entrants whose films have been selected for Competition may, during the exclusive licence period, publish their films only on their own web sites, which are promoted under their own name and hosted by themselves.
• Once the competition is over you will be required to remove the End Title Card from your Film in any future use of it.
• Any entry which does is not selected for Competition cannot be used or published in any way by anyone including the person who made and submitted the film without first removing any reference to the Competition, Raindance, MasterCard and the Big Lunch or other Competition Partners, including but not limited to end title cards, logos and tag-lines (including the Tag-line “Turning our streets into neighbourhoods: priceless”), as well as (if used) the music provided by MasterCard.
• Any user found to be abusing these rules will be barred from the competition.
