The Guilty Pleasure of Food
Mmmmmmm, watching any kind of film involving food makes us salivate like hungry dogs waiting for their owners to gives them that darn “Dog Chow” meal. It leaves us with an empty stomach, yearning to eat what appeared in that film.
I swear, when I watched “Charlie and the Chocolate factory,” I went on a chocolate binge for two weeks, imagining myself in Willie Wonka’s land, swimming around in a water full of chocolates.
Perhaps, it’s the lighting? The decoration? The camera? Or SOMETHING that makes a particular food appear so juicy, so tasty, so yummy and so delicious.
There is another movie that can bust out your waist and go up a few jean sizes: “Chocolat.” Watching this movie will force you to…
a) Google the kinds of chocolates you’ve seen
b) Go out and order/buy the chocolates
c) Eat
d) Eat again
e) Eat once more
f) And….eat a few chocolates more
In real life, we can resist the temptation of food, but when we are taken to the world of food in films, we can’t help it.
There’s no denying about that.
We gotta eat.
